As all of us here know, CK can be a fairly complicated place, even for those have been attending for a while. To prevent the incoming class from being similarly mystified, CK  prepared a freshman orientation night on Tuesday, the 28th of February, at 6:15 pm.

“Freshman orientation is really important,” said senior Kendall Massey, one of the students in charge of the event, “as it introduces incoming students to new routines that they might be unfamiliar with, such as lunch schedules and lockers.” It also served to introduce incoming freshmen to some of their peers as well as to people who can help them out with any problems they have in the future.

Additionally, freshman orientation hosted tables from school clubs, which helped new students find extracurricular activities. While these tables will also be in place at Maze Days, attending freshman orientation can give the new freshmen a head start on choosing which clubs they like. Clubs or groups interested in signing up for future events can talk to Kendall Massey, senior Ben Udell, another student who is helping to run orientation events, or Activities Director Katie Staker.

For those who missed freshman orientation, there is also a Link Crew event at the school in August, where freshmen will learn about the school, as well as Maze Days, when they will sign up for classes and where they can tour the school and see the clubs and activities available. Beyond that, they can contact Staker to arrange a school tour.
