Senior Victoria Leen, born and raised in Silverdale, is a two-time world champion at the Pinto World Championships in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and two-time 2nd place winner in the APHA Youth Worlds in Fort Worth, Texas, for horseback riding. She goes around the country competing against other riders from all over the country and when she goes to Worlds, she goes against the top riders from all over the world.

Leen practices six times a week at the Painted Valley Farms in Poulsbo. There are local competitions, but Leen didn’t use these local meets to win, she uses them for practice so she can be ready for the meets that are around the country.

“I think that the meets that are here help me get better, and understand what I need to improve on with my partner Luke [her horse],” said Leen.

“I hope to come home with another championship and to be able to accomplish that with Luke. I feel like that would be a great accomplishment for us both if we work hard until the day of the competition,” she added.
