CK Elections go smoothly
CK elections give students the opportunity to choose who will lead the school as a whole, bring everyone closer in each class, and make school spirit unified.
This year, senior Ben Huang and science teacher Katie Staker were in charge of the elections and supervising. Senior Caleb Foss was in charge of managing the elections. “I think it went well this year, last year we had two re-votes because of ties which made it complicated. The constitution says if the vote does not have a margin of 2%, then you need to revote. But overall this year we had significant wins, that made the students feel well represented,” said Foss.
“I’m pretty excited. We have a great group of enthusiastic kids with potential. They are going to do great things,” Staker added.
The goal for next year is to help the ASB develop some ideas for the school that can benefit the students and the culture here, and to work on goals that will help the school year round. “I want to bring in a high quality motivational speaker that will support their ideas and visions,” Staker said.
For next year’s elections, they are going to consider electronic voting, but they want to make sure that the vote is secured, and the students are well represented.
