The Junior ASB held a fundraiser to give these kids in a foster home a big birthday party, because they don’t usually get that opportunity.

Junior ASB held a fundraiser at Walmart in Poulsbo for the New Beginnings Church and used the fundraiser money to throw the foster children a big birthday party. The Junior ASB raised an estimated total of around 300 dollars. They sold Krispy Kreme donuts in dozens for ten dollars each. Mason Sally, Alexis Eidsvaag, Leanna Naji and Ericka Black all attended the fundraiser. EIdsvaag said, ”We did this fundraiser so we could give to kids in need. We wanted to throw a big birthday party for them, because most of them don’t get to celebrate their birthdays”.

ASB has held a total of five fundraisers this school year not just for the foster kids though; the Junior’s of ASB were in charge of the flower grams, where students would purchase a rose to send to another student with a note from the sender. Junior Leanna Naji was involved with sending out the flower grams and said “the flower grams are always a big success, we raise lots of money as well as having an opportunity for the school to send a kind message to a friend.” Naji a member of ASB since her sophomore year and recently started a new club that is about the learning of other people’s ethnicity and cultures. She made a fundraiser for underprivileged children by selling Krispy Kremes to raise money to put on a Spring Break party for the kids. Naji said she wanted to start this club because “it will be a good impact for CK, and get kids involved so everyone has a place in school.” She added, “International awareness is a good way to jump into a new environment and is a learning experience with fun activities starting next year.”
