Springfest!

Becca Walls’ cast were told that their prior lives do not matter anymore.

Spring fest is a combination of three student-directed plays in the springtime. Students auditioned with either their own written plays or a play of their choice, while Sara Argiro, CK’s drama teacher, sat back and watched the students do what she would normally do; direct! Students also auditioned to be in each play.

Every year auditions are different, and this year’s Springfest auditions were a bit different than last year’s. Students auditioned not for a certain play, but for all three shows. The directors picked who they wanted in each individual show. This year the directors were Ashyia Wainwright, directing “21 Ways to screw up your college interview,”  Becca Walls, directing “Dystopia! The hungry maze of divergent death,” and Mission Reed, directing a show he wrote himself called “Awful people acting decent”

Each year Springfest is a way for the theater to come together and do one last show together, to relax, and to get rid of some stress from AP tests they had just the week before. Springfest is all about community and coming together. Becca Walls, one of the directors said, “Springfest is a chance for everyone to grow as a family and as a community.”

The show started at 7pm and went until about 9:35 which is a bit later than year’s past. But according to audience feedback, it was well worth it. All three plays had equal amounts of humor and also sadness.

Sophomore Hannah Robinson showed her singing skills, belting out her favorite song.
