Counselor Randy Templeton, a valued member of our staff, and former counselor at Ridgetop Intermediate Junior High, is retiring at the end of this school year.

Templeton reminisced, “Coaching the cheer team was not my favorite memory. There was a lot of favorite memories, all the really good people I’ve worked with, and student successes.”

He has plans for retirement: “I plan on doing a lot of traveling, a lot of reading. A lot of spending time with my grandchildren. A lot of different recreational activities. Hiking, camping, fishing, and golfing. Europe every year. Hike up the Machu Picchu in Peru in the Andes Mountains.”

Memories he will miss: “I started here in 1974 as a student, and I coached here in college, so I have been part of orange and black Cougar tradition for forty-three years. I will miss being part of the orange and black.”

Regarding good memories, he has “just about seen or heard about anything that’s happened here..a lot of goofy stuff here.”
