Events starting up after COVID-19 shutdown

Now that events are starting back up after the shut down, people are starting to understand the importance those events have within the community.

During the COVID-19 shutdown there were little to no events to keep families with young children entertained. Events have been especially important on a Military base; families constantly moving in and out along with friends leaving and a need to make new ones. When COVID-19 shut down America, so many people felt alone and stuck in one place.

With everything slowly opening back up, events are as important as ever. It’s a chance to meet people and grow as a community.

“ It’s a good thing to bring the community back together,” said Marine, Mason Israel when asked if the Trunk or Treat should have been delayed till next year.

“ The other thing, I think now’s a great time for something like this event, get the community together, kids walking around, and especially the kids growing up with this, this is all new to them.”

Several cars filled the large parking lot, decorated in incredible, time consuming and well thought out decorations.

Parents looking for an opportunity to get their kids out of the house filed into the parking lot, filling their bag and buckets with as much candy as it would hold.

The night ended with the announcements of both the winners of the costume contest (little two year old Frodo Baggins from lord of the rings) and the car decorations (a taco truck).

People will once again gather this December for the Christmas party, still in it’s planning stage.
