Carsten Wheeler went to state his senior year in wrestling and placed eighth in the state.

The CKHS wrestlers had an above average season this year. A large number of people joined the team for the first time this year. Despite having so many inexperienced wrestlers, they ended the season with three wins and four losses, not too bad for the new wrestlers. Placing them fifth in their division. Senior Carsten Wheeler qualified and competed at the state tournament this year at the Tacoma Dome. Wheeler placed eighth in the 132 pound weight class.

The state tournament is an elimination-based process where the wrestlers start out competing in their league. After the top four wrestlers in the league go on to the regional division, the top four regional wrestlers compete at the state tournament. By the end of this process, the top 16 wrestlers from the state go to the Tacoma Dome and compete for the national qualifying spots.

Carsten placed second in his league, was regional champion, and finished out the season placing 8th out of 16 in the state.
