Junior Madison Birkenfeld has big plans for the future. As a freshman at CKHS, Birkenfeld had a love for the arts. She was in the band class and played drumline for two years, but then decided to quit, wanting to try out some new classes. She then took photography because for so many years she had always loved it. Pursuing her passion even outside of school, Birkenfeld takes pictures of anything she finds interesting to further her skills behind the camera. After high school, Birkenfeld says she plans to go to college to further her education in American Sign Language and become an ASL interpreter for deaf children. With these skills, she may even consider traveling to different countries to interpret sign language for other cultures as well. Even though Birkenfeld loves the aura and feeling of home that Washington gives, and doesn't plan on leaving anytime soon, she said, “Maybe after college I will travel the world to exotic places and take pictures.”
