Every year during Senior Honors Week, three main events occur: treats for the seniors, the mock crash, and decorating the senior hall.

In response to being asked about the usual response to these events, Hannah Goff, senior class treasurer says:

“People typically get really excited. Things are very real to them, as the school year is almost done, and they will be graduating soon.”

The treats that are chosen every year are decided overall by the senior class. This year, the treats will most likely be gotten from places like Safeway.

Last year’s treats mainly consisted of donuts, floats, rice krispy treats, and a chocolate fountain. Although senior class president Treys Neptune did not believe some of them were too exciting, it was evident that they were very much enjoyed.

“I think they liked it [the assortment of desserts], but the rice krispy treats weren’t all that exciting.”

Because last year’s class wanted things that cost more money than they had, they went around to stores and restaurants asking for donations, which was what provided the majority of last year’s treats.

Just based on last year’s treats, it feels like this year’s will either be amazing or a bit of a let down.

Mock Crash 2017

The mock crash is set up to raise awareness about the importance of not drinking and/or driving during or after prom.

Driving while under the influence of substances can be particularly dangerous, especially during/after an event such as this one, so it’s all the more important and beneficial that awareness is brought up as a whole to this issue.

Last of all is decorating the senior hall. Every year the senior hall is decorated during the week leading up to prom, and it is hoped to be a big success in design as well as likeability.
