MAX and Ali Gatie in the picture for the song “Butterflies”

Well folks I have just listened to “Butterflies” by MAX and Ali Gatie and I see why they call it Butterflies, the main purpose of the song is most likely to be a first aid vomit inducing device. Just kidding, it’s not that bad.

Just some background of the song before, so this is apparently a song that is a sequel to MAX’s other song, “Lights Down Low.” That song was supposedly a marriage proposal and this new song “Butterflies” is for vow renewals.  But just let me get my opinion out.

So, five seconds into the song, it’s very apparent there is a LOT of autotune. At the beginning, we have a nice long “Hmm” but it’s a big indicator that the rest of the song is going to be a heavily autotuned song. Really, the autotune is kind of unpleasant at first. It’s not something that is very appealing to the ears. But at first glance, it’s a good tune. Not a bad tune really, this song could really shine as an instrumental.

So the song keeps going, and now the first lyrics are said, and again, really apparent autotune. It makes you wonder, what does this guy’s real voice sound like? Anyways, you keep listening and it becomes evident that it’s another song about love. How original. Upon further research, basically all of this guys’ songs are about love. Like every single one. If you gave him a dollar for every song from him that was about love, he would make more money from that than his love songs. It’s a little repetitive.

I am talking about Ali Gatie here since this is posted on his Youtube channel, not MAX. I don’t know about MAX. But MAX seems a little suspicious too, what kind of parents are making their kids name in all caps?

Now we have the main verse. “I won’t stop getting butterflies, I get them every time I look into your eyes.” From what I can deduce, this guy has a weird addiction to buying butterflies everytime he looks into someone’s eyes. Maybe the person should put on some glasses or something. And when they say eyes, it’s like it is stabbing your ears. The autotune is real.

Please everyone remembers that this is just an opinion. But it would not do justice to include at least the good aspects of the song. In all honesty, it does have a good tune. I definitely like it. The voice is well synchronized with the music, and I do like the cover art. I feel the second voice is pretty appealing to the ears, despite the auto tune. That’s about it.

Now we are about a minute in. And some other guy starts talking. Now this guy’s voice is much better for the ears, the autotune isn’t as heavy. I can’t tell if this is MAX or Ali Gatie and who the first voice was, but I like the name MAX more so I’ll assume this second voice is MAX’s. In the case that it is not MAX’s voice and is actually Ali Gaties, then forget what I said.

The song keeps going, just about love of course, and we get to the verse again of “I won’t stop getting butterflies, I get ’em every time I look into your eyes” Now we have both men singing this. This seems to be a real thing. Don’t worry folks, if you or any relatives suffer from Obsessive Butterfly Buying When You Look Into Someone’s Eyes Disorder, or OBBWYLISED, then you may be entitled to financial help.

Yeah, that just seems to be the rest of the song. Talking about love and butterflies, typical music stuff. Heavy autotune still. Well, it seems about time to give you my recommendation. In reality, It has a good tune, decent tune. But the lyrics are just the same thing every other song says, just talking about love, and it’s just repetitive. And really, there is just so much autotune it kinda hurts my ears. I would not recommend it personally for someone of my tastes, but if you enjoy that kind of stuff, then go ahead. This has been a review by Daniel Gutierrez. Until next time.
