May 5, 2023 the third installation of the “Guardians of the Galaxy” trilogy is released in theaters. I personally have loved Marvel since I was 10, “Guardians of the Galaxy” has become some of my favorite movies. After finding out that the third movie would be coming out I decided to take my family to go watch it the day it came out in theaters.

The biggest highlight of the movie was how the story was more focused on Rocket. They showed flashbacks about Rocket’s past which is something that we didn’t know about before. We were able to learn how Rocket came to be who he is.

We were able to see the effect on Peter losing Gamora from the second movie. Peter was going through an alcohol problem. Someone from the cooperation where Rocket was from, came to take Rocket back because his brain was valuable to them.

When Rocket got hurt and was on the verge of death, Peter turned all focus to him. At that point Peter couldn’t care less about Gamora, all he cared about was saving his best friend, which was a beautiful part of the story.

There was a big turn to the story when they met with the Ravagers on their way to save a rocket. When the Ravagers boarded their ship, they were met with Gamora. This of course throws Peter off while he’s already in a rush to save his best friend.

Gamora had no memory of Peter, when she was killed by her father she had come back as her past self with no memory of her time with the Guardians. The rest of the time Peter was trying to bring back Gamora’s memory of him.

In the end the Guardians are able to save Rocket as well as all the species that the High Evolutionary had created for Counter-Earth. They all separated and went their own ways, they went in the ways that they felt were best for them.

Peter went back to Earth to meet his Grandpa, Drax and Nebula stayed to take care of the species that they saved, and Mantis went to go and discover herself. Overall this movie was very moving, it touches your heart, as well as makes you laugh. I am impressed with what the producers and story writers have done to put the trilogy together.
