Whites, Asians, African Americans all have a different heritage and background. Each ethnic groups isn’t the same and have faced different experiences in a time of their life. This time of the year, we are focusing on Hispanic Heritage Month. This month is celebrating the histories, cultures and contributions of American citizens whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean and Central and South America. Not every Hispanic family celebrates this month in the same way.. Students that do have Hispanic ancestors celebrate in may different Cultural Events.

Anthony Quin said that “sometimes we will go out to eat and see how many changes have happened from now since the past”. Hispanic is a part of his life and has effect him a different way that anyone else. Anthony Quin also expressed how he may celebrate it more than another Hispanic family compared to how deep his family roots go. If a Hispanic student isn’t connected to his Hispanic Heritage than another, he won’t be involved as someone else.

Sept. 15 is the anniversary of independence for Latin American countries Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua. This celebration lasts for a whole month Until Oct. 12, Columbus Day. This is why Hispanic Heritage month is so big for Hispanics around the world. So many people don’t realize why Hispanic celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month in the history of Hispanic people.

Not only is Hispanic independence celebrated but also traditions and religion are talked about within their community. Young Latinos get the chance to learn about how slaves and Hispanics use to live. They get to realize how hard life once was and how much it has changed. (Matt)“ I wouldn’t want to live in the 1980’s” said a student. Revolution is a powerful thing that did occur in 1988 for the Hispanic community.

Celebrating Hispanic Heritage month is something that Hispanic have fought for ages. Since the 1860’s slavery has been abolished and made a pursuit to breaking unfair laws. In a few years, Hispanics got their freedom because they believed in a revolution. Now we are in a new world that contains days and months that are  celebrate for victories in history. We managed those victories because of enduring the bad and looking towards the future.
