“Homecoming is a fun event but we have to remember that it’s still a school event and that there are certain standards that the staff needs to uphold,” Johnson reminds.

During a survey of 50 students, 42% of students felt the dress code wasn’t allowing much “creative room”,

“I think that it should be less strict because it is a dance and it’s not an educational environment, so who cares if someone is distracted?” Sophomore Meagan Green said.

58% of students think the dress code is a “fair dress code that allows room for certain dresses but still has the basic restrictions”, but the 42% of students who felt that way, may not have all of the information.

If students compare the dress code from last year and this year, the dress code this year is actually equally or less strict, an example is the length of the dress’ shoulder straps.

The Homecoming dress code was a collaboration with Mrs. Gail Danner, Mr. Craig Johnson, Mrs. Katie Staker, and the ASB officers. If there are any questions about the Homecoming dress code, students may ask the ASB officers or Mrs. Staker.
