CK’s Got Talent Variety Show
Audition for CK’s Got Talent Variety Show
Oct. 31, 2017
Singing, dancing, art and more. Students all around campus have unique talents that they can share with the rest of the student body but nowhere to show it. Look no further because the “CK’s Got Talent Variety Show” is coming up.
“Performing in the talent show is an opportunity for any CKHS student to share their talent, we would like to see a wider variety of talents audition, we’d love to see juggling, we’d love a magic act, we’d love to have more variety in our variety show,” described FCCLA Advisor Mrs. Schick. The name was changed to “CK’s Got Talent Variety Show” in order to celebrate all talents like juggling, dancing and unicycling; a student in 2013 displayed a unique talent by opening the second act with a song played on bagpipes.
“I attended the talent show last year and it was a lot of fun, I’m excited to see what’s in store for this year,” said one of the students. The talent variety show is usually scheduled after winter break but this year, the talent variety show is being hosted on Dec. 8. It’s being held before winter break so that the FCCLA club will be able to decorate the theater in different themes.
Sign ups for auditions will be posted outside the ASB office and the auditions for the talent show will be on Nov. 13 through 16 in the band room or food science lab. Auditions start after school at 2:40 on full days and on Thursday auditions begin at 1:30. Students auditioning should have acts that are well rehearsed, entertaining to other students, and are family friendly. Rehearsals are Nov. 28 and Dec. 4 and 5 right after school. The Talent show will be hosted by the FCCLA Club on Friday, Dec. 8 at 6 PM in Southworth Theater.
Ticket prices are $5 for students or children under 12, general admission will cost $7, all of the proceeds will be going towards funding FCCLA and raising funds for students to attend leadership conferences. Questions can be answered and more information can be found with Mrs. Schick, FCCLA President Rozelle Rubio or FCCLA Secretary Ally Payne.
