Homecoming Court Profiles
A glimpse into some of the faces of CKHS’ Homecoming Court
On October 6th and 7th, the events of Homecoming ran full swing. An assembly followed by a football game and the next night a dance were the festivities students took a part of. Although some students have issues with what occured there, no one can deny that the Homecoming Court shined with the faces of CK’s best. It is time for the school to know some of the members of CKHS Homecoming Court of 2017!
Gia Acosta, editor of the Cougar Chronicle, is a member of the Court. An avid musician outside of school, she is also a member of choir. Acosta plays the ukulele and piano. Currently filling out applications for university, she plans to major in recording arts. Her nomination came as a shock, even though many people talked to her about it after the announcement. Acosta did not have any expectations for the dance, but in the end she and her boyfriend Rafael had “a good time.”
Molly Fischer, although she did not attend the Homecoming dance, was happy to be a part of the court. She participates in both Cross Country and Track.
“I like to run,” Fischer said happily. Her hobbies also include hiking and sewing. Fischer believes that she was nominated for the Court because of her connections with the freshman class. After graduation she plans to do a mission with her church before attending the University of Utah.
Grace Chun is a powerhouse for the school.
“Life equals ASB for me,” Chun laughed. She is also a part of Key Club and National Honors Society. She enjoys planning events for students and played a key role in the recent changes to the Court. It was an honor for her when she was chosen to be a part of the Court herself! Chun did not have a date, she attended with a group of friends and had an amazing time!
Damien Saldana is a member of the football team and ASB. As such, he knows a fair portion of the people in the school. Outside of school, Saldana works out and plans for his future. One day he plans to be a journeyman (a fully qualified person) in welding. Although Homecoming did not live up to his expectations, he was happy to have been a part of it.
“I didn’t expect it at all,” Saldana said regarding his nomination. He attended with his girlfriend.
The other members of the Court were unreachable.
