Being a high school student isn’t always the easiest thing. However, for junior Maggie Messerly, high school is just one of the many things she juggles in her busy life. From working two jobs to graduating early, Messerly pushes herself to rise above most as a hard-working and driven person.

“Maggie is focused on school and proceeding with her education at a faster rate than most,” said best friend Chelsea Miller. “ I am so proud to be able to call her my friend.”

Although Messerly is technically a junior, she is currently taking nine classes (three of which are online) to be able to graduate with this year’s senior class of 2018. If she’s not in class or working on homework, Messerly is working two jobs. She is currently employed at the Habit Burger and Blu Berry Frozen Yogurt in Silverdale. Along with working two jobs and maintaining good grades, Messerly takes time to participate in Key Club and Interact Club. With such a full schedule, it is easy for many people to get overwhelmed but not Messerly. She keeps up with her work and still is able to maintain healthy relationships with her peers.

Though her circle is very small, Messerly seems to have some very strong friendships. “Maggie is the most caring person you will ever meet,” said Chelsea Miller, “ There was one morning that I had an exceptionally horrible day and she came back to me the next day with a cake.” In Messerly’s group of friends, quality definitely beats quantity. When asked to describe Messerly, friend Ania Briggs had nothing but good things to say. “She is confident, stable, passionate, independent, amazing, wonderful; she is one of the most honest and ‘herself’ type people I have ever met. I am extremely proud to call her my friend.”

Juggling two jobs, nine classes, and so much more-Maggie Messerly is not your average high school student. With such amazing support from her friends, it seems like there’s no stopping this girl.
