On Thursday Friday and Saturday Central Kitsap High School drama department produced “Anatomy of Gray”. From when the play started to when it ended I was intrigued. Anatomy of Gray was originally written by Jim Leonard and directed by Deborah .D. Rice. Anatomy of Gray was set in the 1880’s in a small town called Gray, Indiana. The play starts out with June Muldoon, played by Abby Power, telling the story of what happened in the small town she called home. June’s father recently passed away because of a freak heart attack which left his 15 year old daughter June Muldoon and her mother Rebekah Muldoon, played by Ashyia Wainright, to fend for themselves. The death of her father infuriated June. So much that she wrote a letter asking for a doctor, well a good looking doctor since June was obsessed with finding someone to love. A little while later a tornado comes crashing into the town. This tornado was no average tornado you see. Within the whirlwind a man came. The man was Galen Gray, played by Teagan Taafe, who was the doctor June Muldoon was asking for. It started off good the doctor was helping the town’s people curing them of their illnesses, but all of that changed when black marks started appearing on the people of the town and they started dying. Abby Power, who played June Muldoon, brought so much to her character and so did the rest of the cast. There were some parts that you could tell that they forgot their lines but they moved swiftly and brought it back. If there was one character that I could say I didn’t really care for would be Christian Lynch who played Pastor Phineas Wingfield. Some of his lines, you could tell he knew them, but a lot of the more fast paced lines there were words coming out but they were mumbled together and you could barely understand them. Also from past productions they have put on that he has been in, his characters all sound the same. Other then that I would give the play a 5 out of 5 stars. It was engaging, entertaining, and everything I would want in a school production. If you didn’t get to watch this amazing production definitely try to see another play that the drama department puts on. You will not be sorry.

¨The play was actually really interesting. It wasn’t what I expected it to be.¨ says Jaya Bybee.
