Kiah Warren, Americas Future Pilot
Kiah Warren is a dedicated individual who strives to meet her career goals.
Kiah Warren is a junior at Central Kitsap High School and is doing full time running start. She is a dedicated student and already has a plan of what she wants to do after high school. She is involved in extra curricular activities that help her study for the job she wants to do when she’s older.
“To be honest, I find Kiah as a responsible, conscientious, a quick efficient decision maker, and a good leader,” said senior Julian Dorsey
Kiah Warren is a hard studier who is motivated to do great things in her life. What she wants to do after high school is to become a commercial pilot. For a few years as an extra curricular activity, she participated in Civil Air Patrol (CAP) at the Bremerton Airport. Civil Air Patrol is a federally supported non-profit organization that serves as the official civilian auxiliary of the United States Air Force. In CAP, you could study and earn your pilots license and that is what Kiah did. Recently, Kiah hasn’t really been doing Civil Air Patrol and has joined a different activity.
Red Tailed Hawks is the new organization Kiah has joined to help pursue her career. She enjoys this organization alot more than CAP because it is more laid back and she could receive more scholarships for her accomplishments.
Just recently around the end of October, Kiah saw that there was an event about aviation in Dallas, Texas that really caught her eye. So her parents sent her down there for the event and it lasted a little over a week. Warren gained a ton of knowledge about aviation, such as commercial airlines, NASA, rockets, and the Tuskegee Airmen. While she was there, she spent time and became close to one of the Tuskegee Airmen.
“My favorite parts of the trip was becoming close to one of the Tuskegee Airmen, being on the red carpet at the Aviation Awards Ceremony, and meeting Buzz Aldrin!”, said Kiah.
A week after she returned from Dallas, she met up with a UW Professor. Kiah also met with one of her peers and they built a rocket with the professor.
Kiah is soon giving a speech to her class at the Red Tailed Hawks. She mentioned that she volunteered to give the speech. Since she volunteered, she was given opportunities to take trips across the country to aviation camps or conventions. That is how she went to the event in Dallas.
“Volunteering and asking to do things for the organization really helps you out. When asking about doing things such as building the rocket, my peers saw that I am striving for my goal. The peers are there to let you ask the question and they would always help you. Volunteering however shows how motivated I am to reach my goal. Since I volunteered to do a speech, my peers at Red Tailed Hawks have given me opportunities to travel across the U.S. to learn about different careers in aviation and hopefully get to know them better.”
Warren is a very busy and inspiring gal. She works hard towards her career and she is a great role model towards younger girls who strive to be like her. She is a coach for a little girls rec league team and acts as a respectful older sister to them. She is respected by all her peers and her friends and many people are excited with how her career will turn out to be.
