There are hundreds of seniors that attend Central Kitsap High School. But not many can say they have accomplished as much as Reece wood. At the age of 17 he has balanced school, sports, and working a part time job. All the while he has stayed a genuine student and member of the Central Kitsap community.

School has always been an important part of Reece Woods life. “Reece always was interested in learning. Since a young age he always had positive interests like sharks, said his mother Janine. Attending Emerald Heights Elementary School, Ridgetop Junior High, and of course Central Kitsap High School he has managed to maintain a 3.9 GPA throughout his high school career. In that time has has taken rigorous advanced placement courses including AP Statistics. He has been apart of the national honors society all four years of attendance at CK High.

Since elementary school Reece has excelled in academics. Being placed in ¾ split classes as a third grader. In sixth grade he was asked to participate in math olympiad, a advanced out of class option for students who had excellent math scores.

Entering junior high as a seventh grader Reece played a slew of sports including football and basketball. “I knew coming into junior high, he would be a special athlete,” said father Robert. He was on varsity both years of attendance. He balanced varsity sports while taking H.I.D, an advanced option for social studies and history for seventh and eighth graders. He kept a cumulative GPA of 3.7+ his entire attendance at then, Ridgetop Junior High. He played extra curricular sports, mainly select baseball.

Entering high school with a tenacious attitude, Reece joined the football team. “I remember how excited he was when he came home and told all of us he had made varsity” said sister Madi. By the fourth game, he was a varsity starter. He would keep that spot throughout his whole football career here at Central Kitsap High school. His freshman year he joined the basketball team, but would soon realize that was not his passion. He stopped playing after freshman year. But he did continue to play select baseball all four years of high school. His sophomore year he was apart of the CK baseball team that got second in 3A baseball in all of Washington State. A major accomplishment and confidence booster. He would use this confidence to find a job. His junior year of High School he got a job at Silverdales very own, Seabeck pizza. Making him a complete member of Kitsap county. More than just someone to model yourself after or look to for guidance, but someone you know you could trust in any given situation. Reeces junior year, his parents got a divorce. Reece did not let this situation set him back, but instead he learned from it and grew. It was just adding fuel to the fire and passion of someone who is doing great things here in our community. He finished his junior year as a member of Honors Society and had a 3.8+ GPA. his senior year grades looked about the same

Reece Wood has never been in any kind of trouble or wrong situation. He is a genuine character here at Central Kitsap High School. He is a reflection of what CKSD produces. Students of excellence.
