Susannah Terry contributes to Central Kitsap High School in many ways.

Susannah Terry is a well known student at Central Kitsap High School. She has contributed to ck in many ways: helping with pep-assemblies, participating in grade activities, being class president of 2017 to being the P.R. Rep of 2018. She loves keeping busy and encourages all students to keep busy with activities. Mrs. Staker and Mr. McCarthy, her supervisors think that she is a huge help and maintains her workload with a positive attitude because keeping a positive attitude is important or else you won’t love what you do.

Susannah participates in many activities/clubs inside and outside of school as well. She is in enviro club, media club, girls golf, asb (public relations liaison) prom committee and key club. It is clear that she is a very busy student and manages her time very well. It is important to have students like her at every school because it encourages students to get “out there” and it prepares students for the work load they will have outside of high school.

She has participated in pep-assemblies for years. Susannah says, “i contribute to assemblies partly because it comes with the job of ASB and partly because i like to see the students body having fun.” Participating in events is not about being “out there” for her, she just likes to talk in big groups of people. What makes it fun for her is too get “all the students as hyped-up” as her and she wants to make sure that everyone has a memorable and great high school experience. Susannah says “i think that if you just give in to the cheesiness of school spirit, it makes the whole high school experience better. To me, it’s a lot easier to enjoy the moment than fight it with a negative attitude or have complaints over something i can’t control.”

Susannahs supervisor Mr.McCarthy, thinks that she is a “rare type of student due to her work ethic and determination.” She had some minor setbacks freshman year and rebounded from them into a new and improved person. McCarthy says “ she doesn’t take herself too seriously, shes very gregarious. She has a great balance between knowing when to have fun and when to be professional and that’s something that is a rare gift.” Not only does Susannah do a great job contributing to CKHS, she has great work ethic. McCarthy, also her previous history teacher says “ she is always on time, takes her assignments seriously and reaches toward goals.”

Mrs.Staker, Susannah’s second supervisor says, “Susannah put together a great team to plan homecoming including;  efforts to make court as inclusive as possible, to recognize students in a way that they wanted to be recognized, to honor teachers that inspire these great students. Susannah also got prom to be early June, rather than early April, which was the only other possible date. She met with our administration to make it work and did a fantastic job of building communication between our admin and seniors. Susannah also works to improve communication as Public Relations Liaison.” Many students were pleased to hear that prom was earlier this year and are very happy with Susannah’s decision to talking with administrators. Mrs Staker happily stated, “Susannah is very positive-can-do kind of person.  She does not give in or get mad she just gets the job done.” She has seemingly limitless energy.  She also works hard to build a team that can follow through with the work when she isn’t available.

*Editor’s note: Prom will occur later this year. It is scheduled for June.
