At school, many of the students like to focus on school work. Other than school work, students should be focused on their sleeping habits. According to the “National Sleep Foundation”, only 15 percent of high school students get a typical good night sleep of 8 ½  hours. Lack of sleep and going to school has its consequences.

“If I don’t have enough sleep per night, I wouldn’t be able to focus at school or in sports”, said senior Reece Wood.

Having less than the average hours of sleep per night does has some effect on students. Multiple students tend to stay up late on their phones or working on homework. This leads to being tired at school the next day. If students keep doing this every night, it would mess up their biological clock which means that the students’ sleep schedule would be screwed up.

“I get on average about 4 hours of sleep per night and I’m very tired every day,” said senior Chloe Tuttle.

When students don’t receive enough sleep their bodies need, students begin to sleep in class often. They also start eating and drinking high caffeinated foods and drinks for breakfast every somewhat morning. For instance, Cheetos and iced tea is a prime example of what some students that are sleep deprived have for breakfast every other morning.
