Mrs. Gac held the first ever meeting of the new Harry Potter club. Harry Potter club meets the first Monday of every month in room 321. The world of Harry Potter was created by J.K. Rowling in 1997 and since then the book quickly grew into a 7 book series. In “Harry Potter”, who is also the main protagonist, him and a small group of friends, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger, go on crazy adventures trying to defeat the forces of evil that plague the wizarding world.
“The club was started due to the recent complaints brought to me from students about the lack of a Harry Potter related club; so I decided to start one up,” said Brandon Rodriguez, Central Kitsap High School Senior, when asked why he started the club.

For the first meeting Mrs. Gac, club supervisor, and Brandon Rodriguez, club president, had the members of the club take the official online quiz on Pottermore.com to find out what Harry Potter house they belong in. If you would like to take the test there is a link to the website if you click on Pottermore.com. All you have to do is create a profile, validate yourself by your email, and then you explore the vast world of Harry Potter. There are four different houses. Gryffindor, where the brave of heart and the chivalrous belong, Hufflepuff, where the loyal and hard workers play, Ravenclaw, where the intelligent and creative roam, and lastly Slytherin, where the ambitious and cunning rule.
“Dumbledore’s Army is all about uniting members of the Harry Potter fandom within our school in order to have a great time talking and theorizing about all things Harry Potter” Rodriguez stated when asked what the club was about.

For the next meeting, Rodriguez was planning on doing a fun art project of where the people in the club make their own wands. In the future, he hopes to bring more magic into it by making a few of the potions from the book and also making the famous drink Butterbeer that everyone in the book series drank.
Lastly, Rodriguez added, “All people who have any enjoyment from the Harry Potter books, movies, or other forms of entertainment; should consider joining the club.”
