Black Friday Work
Central Kitsap Students Work Hard on Black Friday
Black Friday is the perfect opportunity for shoppers across the nation to get some early Christmas gifts at a low cost. Each year buyers line up at their favorite stores, in hopes of getting the best deals on gifts for family and friends. Black Friday shoppers spend an adamant amount of energy waiting for the stores to open, and being the first to grab at the deals before they run out. As hectic as this day is for most, being a worker on this day can be even more stressful.
Central Kitsap High School senior Collin Smith worked at Sierra Trading Post on Black Friday. Sharing his first experience working on this day, Smith reveals the intensity and energy it takes to be productive and efficient.
¨I found the most difficult part of working on black friday was the absurd amount of people that came through the door, most of the people were polite but the store got really messy and it was hard to keep up.¨
Senior Brennan Googe also worked on Black Friday, at Michaels in Silverdale.
¨It was a pretty busy day and their were a lot of messes I had to clean up from people shopping¨
The amount of shoppers made it difficult to keep up with organization and cleanliness throughout the day, and it was very hectic. Although it was a difficult day to work on, Smith did acknowledge some of the highlights.
¨The environment was kind of cool because you can sense the holiday spirit, but it was also a lot more intense than working regular days.¨
Being able to see the amount of people shopping, and the positive vibes from excited buyers sets a positive mood even on a busy day. Itś a good transition from thanksgiving to Christmas, and makes it feel like December sooner.
