What now?
Where the construction for the New High and Middle School is currently.
Feb.21.2018
Since the start of the construction, which began in the October of 2017, the construction progress comes closer and closer to the finish line. Currently, the major priority is on erecting steel, pouring concrete, and keeping on time and budget. If everything continues as planned, then the construction should finish in the Fall of 2019(ckschools.org).
The progression of the new school’s construction is within time and budget. According to Principle Danner, “It’s coming along really well. We’re on time and within budget so those are always our two markers in a big picture scheme of things. If we’re going to get to an opening of Fall of 2019, we want to make sure that every week we are meeting our marks.”
However, a major point of conflict with the progression was, according to Principle Danner, the rainstorms that the month of November brought. As a result, work had been done to install a water processing system to help mitigate any water run off.
Currently the construction is at a stage involving the erection of steel and the pouring of concrete. “We are focused on building the structure and then we are going to turn around and then fill in the structure”, said Mr. Newell, the district financial manager, “ Put in the electrical, the plumbing, the mechanical, the heating, the air conditioning. But right now we are trying to get the building up so that we can get a roof on it.”
The construction continues onward into the future both on time and on budget.
