Jumanji was released on December 20, 2017. This much anticipated film is a remake of the original Jumanji, which was released in 1995 and starred Robin Williams. Many fans of the original movie were excited to see the revival of this classic story.

This movie features a group of high school kids who get trapped in a video game. In this, they become the avatars they selected and play the game. Each character has to take on the physical characteristics and abilities of the players, and are launched onto the island Jumanji. There, they are instructed to save the island that is under the control of a bad guy.

Throughout the movie, the characters are forced to adapt to their new bodies and attributes that make them valuable to escaping the game. They are required to work together in order to beat the game and escape back into reality.

The cast is full of stars like Dwayne Johnson who played Dr. Smolder Bravestone, Kevin Hart as Moose Finbar, Jack Black as Professor Shelly Oberon, and Nick Jonas as Alex. These famous actors were challenged with not only becoming the characters, but portraying their personalities in contrasting bodies. The actors did a exceptional job at executing this and the movie was well accepted amongst critics.

This movie is full of comedy and depicts positive themes such as teamwork, empathy, selflessness and communication. This movie is appropriate for kids 11+, as there is some swearing and deaths amongst the players throughout the movie. There are also some sexual references made that seem to objectify women.

Overall this movie is a must-see and a great family film. Go see it in theaters now!
