Spring break, probably one of the most highly anticipated breaks of the year besides of course summer. Spring break is for sunbathing and traveling to cool places in search of a good time. When nothing else matters except having a good time over the short break from writing essays and long nights up studying for exams.

During this break plenty of students at Central Kitsap high school head out to other states even foreign countries to begin there spring break. But it’s ok if your not about traveling to other states and just wanting to enjoy your week at home just relaxing not having to stress about catching your flight or packing. But senior Clara Tedford has traveling on her mind. When she thinks about her upcoming spring break. Tedford’s idea of a perfect spring break is going to Anaheim, CA where her favorite place of all time is, Disneyland.

Tedford told the Cougar Chronicle “  I’m going with my boyfriend and his family are taking me. I’m super excited and thankful that they are willing to take me. I’m staying at the Grand Californian which is the fanciest hotel on the Disneyland grou

nds, it just got refurbished and i’m super excited even the room is Disney themed. I grew up being obsessed with the movies, so Disney became a huge part of my childhood. I don’t know, it just makes me really happy.”

The atmosphere of Central Kitsap High School is flourishing with excitement due to the upcoming break that everyone is so eager to go on. Some are more eager than other when it comes to break like Senior Logan Field and Junior Erika Perry. Erika has expressed to the Cougar Chronicle how much she is ready for spring break and how she is going to spend it with family in Phoenix, AZ.

Perry said ” Spring break can’t come any sooner, i’m so ready to get out of this weather it’s honestly just annoying at this point, rain almost every single day I can’t wait to get out and lay in the sun. Im happy my aunt just bought a house down there so I have a excuse to leave Washington.”

Then their are other students who prefer a more relaxed setting and staying home in the Great Pacific Northwest. Staying home is a nice option as well, not spending money on airfare or a hotel and just enjoying time with your friends and going on hikes and adventures like Senior Logan Field who loves just staying in town. Field does all of the above he is always out and about doing outdoors activities, whether it be soccer or going on hikes with his friends. Field way rather prefers staying in our small town enjoying his spring break here rather than go on some exotic vacation.

Field explained to us why he loves staying in town. “ I just like the small town vibe, people say there is not much to do in Silverdale but honestly if you are outdoorsy there is a lot to do in the area like hike Chico falls, go to gold mountain and hike around. But a lot of the reason I like to stay in the area is so I can hangout with my girlfriend Megan and play soccer with the High school team.”

Whether your staying home and enjoying your break in the great Pacific Northwest or going out of state to a exotic place and soaking up the sun, have fun Coug’s. For seniors this is your last break as High schoolers so enjoy it with your friends and have a amazing last time!
