Don’t Judge A Book By Its Movie
Books vs. Movies: The Great Debate
May 10, 2018
The concept of books versus movies is a hotly debated topic that seems to be coming up more and more frequently. Some people prefer books, while others prefer movies. Another prominent issue is the problem of movies being different or worse than the books they are based on.
When contesting the two, there are many important factors that contribute to either one or the other, or perhaps even both. For example, Hollywood specializes in special effects, and they are getting more and more realistic.
Most of the time, however, they do a poor job of portraying the intended image that the original author wanted to create, as books bring unlimited possibilities for one’s own imagination that movies cannot do with their limited budget and supplies.
Books create individual, valued worlds that cannot be priced or interpreted in any exact way as everyone’s imagination is different, and none but the author truly know the intended image and its purpose.
In addition, the prices required to view a movie is typically much more than if you were to simply buy the book that movie was based on.
In some ways, movies can be better than books. For example, when they better portray the intended story than the original author did, but those individual instances are very few and far between.
All in all, there are many cases in which the books are better than the movies, but in reality it is up to what each individual believes regarding this issue.
