Opinion: A Pro-Life Article

In a world where morality seems to be a gray area rather than black and white, I feel it’s important to gather as much information as one could before making a life altering decision. Abortion does not just effect the biology of a person but I believe it cuts much deeper. Based on the evidence presented, I believe abortion is morally wrong.

Human life begins after the union of male and female gametes or germ cells during a process known as fertilization or conception. Human life begins at conception and a fetal heartbeat can be detected around 6 weeks of pregnancy.

If before the 6th week there is no detectable heartbeat, is it justifiable to say there is no life? Plants don’t have a heartbeat and people will happily say they are alive. What about someone who has died? They lose their heartbeat. How can you lose something you never had? Babies don’t start with a heartbeat but in the next few weeks one will be detected, so why take it away?

The technology we have today cannot detect a heartbeat until 6 weeks. This does not show they don’t have a heartbeat from the very beginning, it just can’t be proven yet.

A great number of people assume that a baby’s life starts once it exits the womb. According to “Biologists’ Consensus on ‘When Life Begins’,  vast biologists agree that it starts at fertilization.

There are approximately 40-50 million abortions a year, as claimed by “USA Today”. One of the many excuses people will use to justify abortion is “What if they were raped?”. Out of 50 million abortions, 1% are a product of rape. That’s 500,000 out of 50 million. How can you justify the deaths of 50 million unborn babies with an excuse that only covers 500,000? Along with rape their are also abortions resulting from incest. 250,000 terminated pregnancies are the result of incest. That’s 0.5% of 50 million. 49,250,000 are from other issues including danger to the life of the mother.

Or simply because they made a mistake and didn’t want to deal with the consequences of this mistake. Some mothers who terminate their pregnancies believe they only have two options. They could go through with the pregnancy and risk dying during labor, maybe along with their child, or terminate the pregnancy and try to bring a child into the world through another way.

Abortion rights have wiped the innocence away from the world and has destroyed the accountability of peoples choices. Before a woman decides to make this life altering decision, let us talk about what abortion looks like.

Abortions can be preformed up to 24 weeks, approximately 6 months, while most states limit it to about 5 months or 20-22 weeks of age. 1.3% of abortions are after week 21. If a woman decides to terminate her pregnancy after 21 weeks, the procedure requires the use of a gripping tool to rip the limbs of the baby’s body in addition to the use of a vacuum, to suck the rest of the corpse out. Or they will have the mother give birth to the child and let it lay on a table gasping for air till it is rightfully disposed of.

The earliest a women can have an induced abortion is 4-6 weeks. In order for a baby to be removed this early the mother is prescribed a pill that will remove the baby from your system. If your baby is 12-13 weeks you will have to get their body vacuumed out of your system. According to the National Library of Medicine ,  aborted babies are “the definition of clinical waste”.

There are many ways to dispose of your baby’s corpse. If your baby was 9 weeks or younger you can undergo an abortion at home. If you decide to do this method you can simply wrap their remains in a tissue and flush it down the toilet like you would do with your dead goldfish.

If the procedure was done at a hospital, the fetal remains are placed in a container then into a bag made of biodegradable material. You can have the body cremated or have your own service. If you don’t want to keep your baby’s remains the hospital will dispose of them for you.

The effects of abortion in some ways have brainwashed our society. Abortion should not be morally acceptable. The fact that human beings who had no voice to say if they wanted to live and being called “clinical waste”, is the definition of disrespectful and proves zero regard for human life.

Violence against a pregnant woman, by law, is considered violence against two people. The unborn child and the mother. Then how should we consider pregnancy termination? Is this a double standard of law? Or should we redefine termination of pregnancy? The baby has a whole different DNA and if allowed to be born will have a different fingerprint, which means the baby is a different  person from the mom. If you call an unborn child a clump of cells, know also that you are one too. I’m a clump of cells, you’re a clump of cells and babies in the womb are a clump of cells.

Coming from this YouTube video,Ex-Abortion Doctor Tells The SHOCKING Truth About Abortions”, abortions weren’t as safe and easy like many people might think. “This Ex-Abortionist, Dr Anthony Levantino, speaks on how abortions were preformed and why he ultimately decided to end his career.

“Reach in again, pull again, pull out an arm…  which you put down on the table next to you… again and again to tear out the spine, the intestines, the heart and lungs. Head on a baby that size is about the size of a large plum… you know you did it right if you crush down on the instrument and white material runs out of the cervix that was the baby’s brain, then you can pull out skull pieces… you just affirmed your right to choose,” he said.

This is the main part of what goes into a second trimester abortion. He ended his career after his adopted daughter died. “For the first time in my life I really looked, I really looked at that pile of body parts on the side of the table, and I didn’t see her wonderful right to choose, and I didn’t see all the money I just made. All I could see was somebody’s son or daughter,” he said.

Science claims that water drops on Mars could possibly represent signs of life, but let’s ask ourselves, is not a heartbeat a prominent sign of life (On Mars, Signs of Water Doesn’t Necessarily Mean Signs of Life)?

If your mother thought you were an inconvenience or clinical waste you wouldn’t be reading this article. Know that abortion is not the only option for an unwanted pregnancy. Even without abortion, there are 5 other alternatives, which would be: Abstinence, Motherhood, Adoption, Birth Control, or Protection. `
