Junior Ashlyn Ayers fights for possession against the Rams

The Central Kitsap girls soccer team started this year having been ranked number two in state in the 3a division. They were undefeated going into the game on October 2 against North Thurston at CK.

They went on to have a shutout victory scoring three goals in both halves for an overall win of 3-0. Ella smith scored a header with 32 minutes still on the clock in the first half; Kaylie Mehlnbeck Scores two in the last five minutes of the half to bring the score to three zero Central Kitsap. In the second half Trinity Ramirez scored with just over 29 minutes on the clock quickly followed by Ella Smith who scored her second goal three minutes later. The final Cougar goal comes by Ava Hays with 15 minutes left to play. The Cougar’s defeat the Rams with a final score of  six to zero

Ailish Watson was very confident that the team performed strongly like she knows they can.

 “I think we need to work on first touch, first to the ball stuff like that”.  but she believes there is still room for improvement.

 This goes to show that no matter how much of a power house the team can be there is always room for improving and becoming stronger as one and that is what the team plans on doing. 

The Central Kitsap Lady Cougs are on track to reach the playoffs with this game which brought them up to 4-0 they then went on to win seven of their next ten games bringing the season record up to 11-2-1.
