The boys’ varsity basketball team had a neck in neck loss against Capital High School. Playing a home game gave the CK confidence in their abilities that night, but they began to slow down towards the end of their game. The score board went back and forth with the points, till the end game buzzer rang, finalizing the score 54 – 49, Captial.
Central Kitsap committed fouls that likely had an influence on the outcome of the game. Central Kitsap had scored lots of points at the start but began to slow down towards the end of the game.
“I mean, we played good,” Point Guard Josiah Espinoza said. “They got momentum, and they just beat us.”
Nearing the end of the game the scores were close, with Central Kitsap High School in the lead and Capital High School trailing not too far behind. Central Kitsap’s ball hit the backboard and hit the rim a couple of times but never went in the hoop.
“I was mad that we lost but it is what it is,” Espinoza said.
Although CK had lost their game, they ended up having great sportsmanship and respect for Capital High School.
