What is climate change and how does it affect the Earth?

Wow! Look what the rain did.

Now, we all know there is a lot going on in the world. Climate change has previously been called global warming. Why? Because global warming and climate change are often similar. Climate change is weather patterns and global warming is the heating of the Earth’s climate system. But it seems like they are similar to each other. Why? Well, I’ll tell you why. They are both on Earth’s climate system. Which, climate change can affect all of us and cause terrible damage to our hometown or city.

Sophomore Kittrina Roberts says some people ignore what’s happening in the world, but if people ignore what’s happening, people will start to argue against climate change, “I know that climate change is happening and people are trying to ignore it, but if we try to ignore it, it will cause an effect…,” she said.

Roberts also thinks the people should have the main responsibility to approach climate change. She wasn’t positive about the people having the main responsibility to approach climate change.  “I’m not sure. I think it’s something we can work together with the people because climate change is something to affect all of us,” she said.

Senior Alicia Reardon says she only knows that some places are high temperature and low temperature. “I have. I know that some places are warm and supposed to be cold,” she said.

Junior Dylan Mathews says he doesn’t know much about climate change. He thinks the president should have the main responsibilities when we all approach climate change. “If anybody, it will probably be the president,” he said.

Climate change has effects on individual regions, it can affect so many living creatures and living areas. The impacts can be anything, it can be earthquakes, hurricanes, tornadoes, droughts, floods, and wildfires.

As for Roberts, she thinks climate change can have an effect on the natural environment. “Climate change can have an effect on natural wildlife or living,” she said.

Reardon thinks climate change impact the different weather patterns. “Change of weather,” she said.

Mathews thinks it can have an effect on the living creatures. “Wildlife,” he said. Dylan Mathews also thinks that factories and cars can cause climate change too. “Factories and cars, that’s all I know,” he said.

There are many ways we can approach climate change. We can all work together, get charged up with renewables, get politically active and vote, and start a conversation climate.

Roberts says we can find ways to use different chemicals. “Yes, we can find new methods in the way of how we use chemicals,” she said.

Reardon thinks we can convert waste into new materials. “Recycling,” she said.

Mathews thinks it’s better to use power energy than remains of living organisms. “I think it’s better to use electrical energy than fossil fuels,” he said.

The Earth’s climate has changed throughout history. Just in the last 650,000 years there have been seven cycles of glacial advance and retreat, with abrupt end of the last ice age about 11,700 years ago marking the beginning of the modern climate era and the human civilization. Climate change is still happening around the world today, just like Australia’s wildfire is still happening. Three American firefighters died in water tanker plane crash on a Thursday while battling the Australia wildfire. Since September, the plane crash raised the death toll from the fire to at least 31.
