On Dec. 17, CKHS staff and students faced off in a competitive dodgeball tournament during advisory, heightening school spirit as they competed. The first round of dodgeball started off strong, with seniors and freshmen taking the floor first. As dodgeballs flew and students fell, seniors came out victorious.
The next round of dodgeball was juniors against sophomores, with the sophomore team being quick to stop the juniors, keeping them from the next round. The two victorious teams, seniors and sophomores, marked the last student-only dodgeball game, with the winner of that game progressing to the final dodgeball match against the school staff. The sophomores fought well, but in the end, seniors were the last team standing.
The student section cheered from the bleachers as CKHS staff and seniors lined up on opposite sides of the gym waiting for the best of three match to begin. As the first round began, staff showed no mercy, giving it everything they had while seniors did the same. The first victory of the finals went to the seniors, though staff members did not let that discourage them as they still had one more round to show their worth.
The second round was fierce, with both staff and students cheering on their teams from the sidelines. Dodgeballs were blocked and caught on both sides of the gym, with Cirillo jumping in at times to help out both teams. Amidst the chaotic atmosphere, seniors were able to come out on top, winning the 2024 CKHS dodgeball tournament.
