With the excitement of summer approaching, an evolving tradition of a video involving the CKHS community took place on June 5. ASB Executive Advisor Daniel Sullivan has been involved for the past two lip dub videos and is retaining his role in organizing the event once more.
“So a lip dub, we did one in 2019, and then we did one in 2024,” Sullivan said. “A lip dub is just a fun, end-of-year activity that we do that has a mashup of songs and different kids lip-syncing those songs and dancing along, and the whole school gets to participate in this end-of-year video that takes a tour throughout the campus and different themes for what songs we pick and outfits and dancing and all of that kind of stuff. This year we’re going to do songs from movies.”
The lip dub video consists of students lip-syncing to various songs around campus and

performing choreographed skits or dances. It has allowed students to not only share their creativity, but also has brought the CKHS community closer together.
“It’s made people more aware that there’s a lot of people in this school instead of just them or their little group,” ASB Executive Secretary Emily West said. “Sometimes if they sign up [to be a lead], they’re working together with others, and if they’re on the sidelines, they’re cheering with others and across from others. So there’s new faces that they get to see.”
Involvement throughout the school varies from person to person, but the lip dub allows students to choose their amount of involvement, each participant still contributing to the school’s atmosphere. It gives students a chance to step out of their comfort zones and work with others to create a musical snapshot of the different people around CKHS.

“I think that the lip dub is a really fun thing because it can help interact with the school, and everyone can be involved if they want to, and then it just shows the whole school and, like, different personalities,” Class of 2028 Vice President Mia Aniano said.
The eagerness for the school year to end can be bittersweet. A sense of school pride and community is something that the ASB Spirit Master Liaison, Reece Albin has great knowledge of.
“I would just say not to be afraid of showing and expressing your love for the school,” Albin said. “I feel like it’s something that everyone should take pride in. You should take pride in going to CK and really show it, and don’t be embarrassed, because nobody’s judging you.”
