“Aw Shucks”

After the lost against Lincoln last week, Tubbs was ready to focus on the next game against Foss.

Starting quarterback, Tyler Tubbs is only 15-years-old, but he is the person everyone looks to every Friday night for Ck Football. Tubbs was born in Bremerton and has lived in Washington his entire life.

Tubbs went to Silverwood Elementary and started his football career when he was 9-years-old-playing running back for the Silverdale Trojans. At Ridgetop Junior High School he played as a running back and a tight end.

Tubbs was one of few to get a newer helmet this year. He spent his entire summer at football practice and has earned his college level helmet.

This is Tubbs’ second year in high school and second year as quarterback. Tubbs’ parents are stoked about him being the starting quarterback. “I never would have thought I would be a quarterback when I first started high school football,” Tubbs said. “I was expecting to be lost in the crowd my freshman and sophomore year. Instead the entire team looks up to me to do my best every Friday night.”

Tubbs is almost a 4.0 student and is the starting quarterback on varsity for his high school. That is a dream come true. Tubbs plans on going to Boise State University to play football. He has admired that school since he was a little boy. He doesn’t know what he wants to study yet, but he guarantees he will know by the time he graduates.

Tubbs is looking forward to the first week of November where he will be starting in his first playoff game.

Tubbs wanted no mental mistakes for his last weeks’ game, senior night, against Lincoln. “We needed that win,” Tubbs said, “because if we won, we would have had a high chance of being league champs!” He wants every football player to work their hardest this week during practice. He strongly believes, “If you put in the hard work on the field, it will pay off every Friday night.” Tubbs is very excited for this year and still has two years left after this season.
