What and who are the “Family Career Community Leaders Of America,” aka FCCLA? FCCLA advisor and consumer science teacher Elaine Schick explains FCCLA as a “National Student Leadership Organization.” Several young women from CK qualified for the FCCLA state conference in March. Sophomores Ally Payne, Emma Kohler, Rozelle Rubio, and Salma Lopez attended the state conference. Rubio describes the experience as a ”great opportunity to learn leadership skills and practice problem solving skills.”

State conference gold medal winner Ally Payne describes her experience as “very rewarding, because we learned about sports nutrition and had the chance to compete at state which also looks good on college applications.” Her partner Emma Kohler also describes the opportunity as a “ rewarding experience because we were able to work on our leadership and public speaking skills, and it also allowed us to unleash our creativity and improve our organization skills.”
