Cheerleaders
Students, families, and friends packed the stands at Olympic Stadium on Friday, September 30th, to watch the CKHS Cougs take on the Gig Harbor Tides. While the student section was going wild and the football team was battling hard, another team -CK’s cheerleaders- were putting in work themselves.
Cheerleaders from the varsity cheer team kept up their pep through the cold weather and the long-lasting quarters of the game. Senior captain Alexis Eidsvaag said, “It was one of the longest games I’ve ever had to cheer at…and it was cold…and we lost, but GO COUGS!”
The cheerleaders are known for having to do push-ups after every Cougar touchdown and when asked how many they had to do total Eidsvaag laughed and said, “Too many to count!”
While the football players were taking a break at half-time, the cheer team ran over to the visitor’s side to spread some love to the GHHS Tides. “There’s a new thing going on where @ucaupdates on Instagram is posting pictures of Friday night lights all over the country,” said Eidsvaag. “We submitted a picture of us stunting with the Harbor cheerleaders so that we could be featured on the page.” It was a true sign of sportsmanship.
