When the Lady Cougs played Capital the first game went well for the team. They did everything they needed to do to win it, which included working together and calling the ball.

The score of the first set was 27-25 Cougs. The second set of the game was very similar to the first, as the girls kept working together and pulled out another win of 26-24. The third set you could see that the team was getting tired and slowing down,and, they lost the set 8-25 Capital.

After their loss, the coach pulled the girls aside and you could see he was telling them what they needed to do to pull out a win in the next set. The 4th set the girls were back to playing an awesome game, doing everything that needed to be done, calling the ball and following the steps “Bump, Set, Spike.” As the set got closer to the end, Capital caught up and beat the Cougs 19-25.

The girls knew now that they couldn’t afford to lose another set because it would cost them the game. The 5th set was a close set once again, and the girls played hard but Capital came through at the end and won 12-15. It was a tough match for the girls. Mackenzie Page a middle hitter from CKHS said, “ It was a tough game tonight for the team, we all could have communicated better on the court. I personally needed to work on defense.”
