Sophomore Kiah Warren scored two goals for the Cougs as they tortured the Highclimbers.

The CKHS Girls Junior Varsity Soccer Team has been on a roll lately, taking on the Shelton Highclimber Girls JV soccer team at home on September 20th. Freshman Marielle Arnolds was first to score out of many scored on the Highclimbers.

“I really enjoyed the game, even when I didn’t get to play for the first 10 minutes,” said junior, Gia Acosta, midfielder for the Cougs’ JV. The game resulted in a 7-1 win as the Cougars ended up using their heads in the game, literally. Coach Vicky Webb felt the need to restrict her players on using their legs to score, so instead they had to only use their heads for the goals for the second half.

“I really hope we can keep our momentum going for the next couple of games that we have left,” said Acosta. Their record stands (7-2) and they are currently leading in the 3A South Sound District League. This may just mean our young Cougs may be the stars of the future.
