YSBP is a safe space
YSBP stands for Youth Suicide & Bullying Prevention, a club focused on knowing the signs of bullying and suicide in teenagers. Susan Leavell is the administrator of the club and has been running the club for seven years. They do presentations in classrooms every year to educate students on the warning signs of suicide, what to do if you or a friend needs help and the appropriate people to get help from.
This club also makes itself available as a resource if anyone ever needs a safe space to go. Co-Presidents, Haili Fain and Justina Le have been with the club for two years each. There are also first timers that love it. Freshman Carly Cregg said it has helped her with her life and has also helped her with helping her friends. If anyone wants to join the club, they meet every Monday at 2:45 in drama teacher Sara Argiro’s room, room 203.
