Tattoos

“I always want to remind myself to stay faithful and know that there is someone who is always there for me,” Nivens claimed.

What do you consider art? Many students would consider art to be a painting, music, a mold shape of some sort, or simply an item placed upon a surface. Tattoo wouldn’t be the first answer that most students would give you.

Senior Brandon Nivens shared two of his five tattoos, explaining why he decided to get “inked” and the meaning behind each tattoo. “I’ve wanted a tattoo since I was 13,” Nivens said. “I got it when I was 16 and my parents were always cool with it and didn’t mind me getting another one.”

A lot of people would prefer not having a tattoo, mainly because they believe that it would hurt, but senior Isaiah Rodriguez  believes otherwise stating, “It didn’t hurt that bad; the shoulder is probably the most pain I got from a tattoo.”

Senior Teayana Kirby got her tattoo for her mom.
“I got this rose tattoo inspired by my mom, since she’s been there for me when I had my downfalls in music,” Nivens said.
“I used to be a huge break dancing fan to the point that I wanted to tattoo on my skin, Rodriguez explained. “Even though I quit dancing, I don’t regret my tattoo”
