Informal Dance: Back in Black

Students collecting their friends at the tables so they could dance.

“Back in black, I hit the sack, I’ve been too long, I’m glad to be back.”

This year’s informal was a black light theme dance, just like last year’s informal dance. Informal dances do not require your fancy dancing shoes and your extravagant clothes. At this informal dance, they wore all white or neon, in order to glow under the black and neon lights.

“I look forward to the blacklights,” said junior Ryley Petoff before attending.

Some students recommended changes for next year. “The dance was fun but not a lot of people. I would want more people and have the dance later in the year since it is right after Tolo,” said Petoff.

“The music was better, but I would want the informal to be advertised better,” said senior Kendall Washington.

The leadership group organizes the dances for the CKHS student body. “It’s a little hard to organize it, and then if we don’t have an informal then all that hard work goes to nothing,”said Washington.
This year, at least 85 students bought tickets, although only 53 showed up. Activities director Katie Staker is not sure if there will be an informal next year, since Tolo is right before it. ”It will be hard to get support for next year’s informal,” said Staker.
