DECA, the Distributive Education Club of America, is a club that lets students come together in similar interest such as business, marketing, finance, and hospitality and compete in competition. There are meetings every other Tuesday morning in Mrs. Ferates room at 7:25am, run by senior co-president’s Ryley Petoff and Olivia Krog.

This year there are two conferences being held, the Fall Leadership Conference in October which is being held in Bellevue and the Area Conference in January that is being held in Tacoma. If you place in the top seven in your competition you get the chance to go to state which will also be held in Bellevue, nine people from CK went to state. Junior, Autumn Mullins said, “It is very fun and looks good on resumes and college applications”. You can even get scholarships for being a member.

DECA is always open and happy to accept new members on tuesday mornings. You can stop by Mrs. Ferate’s room to ask her about it or contact Ryley Petoff and Olivia Krog with any questions you might have.
