Baseball season is starting up very soon. With the season cuts that happened just last week, the team is getting ready to take on the 2018 season led by Head Coach Bill Baxter. The Varsity and Junior Varsity list is posted in the locker room and the varsity list looks pretty stacked. This year mostly like every other year at the high school, juniors and seniors take up most of the varsity team.

“I’m very excited to take on the upcoming baseball season”, said senior Fred Buckson.

This year, the practices are going to be a little different than last year. Since the school district is building the new school on top of where the old baseball field used to be, the practices are going to be at the Fairgrounds from 3 to 5:30 p.m. Just like last year, the grind never stops at practice.

The previous season, there were only about 4 seniors playing. This season however, there are 5 seniors playing. The seniors this year are Damien Saldana, Reece Wood, Teagan Taafe, Fred Buckson, and Tristan Barr.

“This year’s baseball season, I’m going to be playing third base”, said senior Reece Wood.

Central Kitsap High School’s first game is coming up very soon. It is on Friday, March 9th which would be an away game at Bonney Lake. The first home game however is going to be on March 14th against Bainbridge.
