Ray Goren is the newest up-and-coming artist on the scene and he is definitely one to watch. The 18-year old New York born prodigy was influenced from a young age by artists such as Amy Winehouse, Stevie Wonder, B.B King, and Stevie Ray Vaughn. The recent high school graduate moved to Los Angeles when he was five and has decided to continue focusing on his music and finding his path.

Goren, who released a full album last year, has recently put out three new singles titled Space, Graduation, and Traffic that are reminiscent of his distinguishable soulful style. The young solo artist, who uses a looper pedal to lay down each instrument track in the song, can pretty much do it all-playing bass,guitar, drums, and keys. Goren writes his music about his experiences and views on things from complicated relationships to what one should do after graduating high school. His style is a beautiful fusion of blues-y rock, new wave pop, and R&B. Every riff he plays and groove he establishes is unique to his style but does an excellent job of reminding listeners of his old school influence.

Goren, who grabbed the attention of many legendary musicians, was able to perform and gain mentorship from greats like Leon Russell and Buddy Guy. Russell, who worked with Goren the years leading up to his death, imparted some knowledge to the young prodigy on songwriting. Goren’s musical ability also stood out to American blues guitarist, Buddy Guy. Guy, who pulled influence from many of Goren’s musical idols, invited the young musician to join him on stage one night.

With years of experience and musical knowledge, Ray Goren is on his way to becoming one of the greats. His soulful voice and unique style are sure to catch the attention of music lovers everywhere.
