With the class of 2018 graduating in less than two weeks, and quite a few more beginning their next grade after summer is over, a few seniors in the graduating class of 2018 have some helpful advice for their underclassmen that should definitely be payed attention to.

This advice can help with various degrees of preparation, whether it be for college, or if it’s for those who are just starting their years at Central Kitsap High School (CKHS).

First of all, one of the most important ways to prepare for future classes, as advised by Tatiana Tubberville, is to start out with good study habits.

If study habits are poor, then it will likely be hard to maintain good grades as well as pass classes. Good study habits are absolutely essential to being a successful student, whether it’s at college or at CKHS.

The best classes to take that can benefit you the most are AP classes, says Briana Burdsall.

Not only can AP classes provide you with possible extra college credit, but it also gives student more in-depth information on the course material.

What’s also important to note are the things that are most important to focus on when studying.

“What’s most important to focus on when studying are the ways that you can best retain information, such as highlighting and taking notes,” says Tubberville.

These skills will most likely prove to be extremely useful in both the present and in the future, so it is important to take these opinions into account when planning out the course to graduation as well as life after high school.

Tubberville also feels that the thing that is most important to remember about classes at CKHS is that classwork as well as other projects need to be done and turned in on time.

If classwork, finished or not, is not turned in, then all the work put in to that class may turn out to be for nothing in the end. That’s why paying attention to this advice is important, and can benefit students for possibly years to come.
