“Wicked: For Good” is a sequel to the film “Wicked” which released almost the same day last year, the first being Nov. 22, 2024 and the newest being released Nov. 21, 2025.
Normally, any sequel to the original isn’t nearly as good as the first. However, ‘Wicked: For Good’ proved different by bringing the two-part story to the best possible closure.
Both movies are based off of the original ‘Wicked’ play. However, Universal Studios took the play and added more “magical” features into the movies such as Elphaba riding her broom, or more realistic-looking animals rather than the play production itself having to use human actors to demonstrate the animals.
While the “magical” new additions to the movie were being presented, the whole movie was filled with music to help create the storyline, which was also deprived from the original play.
The music in the movie involved loud bass and others a gentle sweet song, turning out to be a very exemplary choice of a variety of songs. One thing that felt off was how loud the bass gets. The bass would progressively grow louder and louder. Then, after the loud bass section, it immediately moves into a very quiet scene, leaving the bass thrumming silently across the movie theater to replace the sudden silence.
One of the main subjects of the movie are the animals such as the monkeys. The animals in the movie represent discrimination. They are excluded from things such as traveling or having jobs such as teaching because they are animals. This is a positive demonstration to bring awareness from movies to people’s actions today outside the movie theater.
Overall, ‘Wicked: For Good’ is a fantastic ending to the two-part movie series and if people are planning to watch it, they’ll be equally as pleased with the best closing movie.
