Senior Amber Welch is starting her dream as a cosmetologist this year at West Sound Technical School. She has had this passion for makeup since she was five when her mom would allow her to mess around with her makeup. Welch didn’t start to take makeup seriously until she was in 5th grade when she received her first makeup kit. Although this kit was small it’s what sparked her interest in makeup. “I enjoy making people feel confident about the way they look,” said Welch. “Confidence is the key to happiness.” When Welch is not practicing her makeup skills she is out on the volleyball court serving up some aces. She has been playing volleyball for four years. She started as a Cub at Central Kitsap Junior High, and now plays as a full-grown Cougar.
