It’s Food Drive Time!

The staff participates in the food drive — and sometimes wins.

Canned soup, fruits, and vegetables. Boxes of cereal, crackers, and cookies. These are all good examples of food that can be donated to the CK food drive, March 13th through March 24th. Everything that is collected will be donated by CK’s students and staff will be given to the local food bank, where it will then be handed out to Kitsap’s homeless community.

In 2012, there were an estimated 512 homeless individuals living in Kitsap County, and the numbers have continued to rise since then.

Anyone can help. Just bring any amount of non-perishable food to the ASB office. The best part? You don’t have to go out and buy food for this cause. There’s a good chance you already have a perfectly good can of soup in your cupboard, or maybe your mom bought the wrong kind of cereal? Bring it in!

The food collected will be greatly appreciated by an enormous amount of people in need.
