The Knowledge Bowl is a trivia based competition where schools will send out their teams of kids to compete against each other and prove which team has the most knowledge about specific topics.

The senior student leader, Autumn Yi really enjoys the Knowledge Bowl and has been participating in the club since Freshman year, and is now the student advisor of the club.

“I guess I kind of took charge the first day we met again.” Yi said

The team practices every Friday in Kallie Szczepanski’s room, room 3203.

“We usually sit down with a piece of scratch paper and a pen, and then we buzz in on buzzers to try and answer questions our reader Mrs. Szczepanski will ask us,” Yi said. “We have 15 seconds to buzz in, and then 5 seconds to answer”

The Knowledge Bowl also functions the same way at higher level meets. The meets for knowledge bowls are usually the same across the United States, generally there are four to six members, and the questions cover just about every topic in a high school curriculum and a few more, according to West Sound Academy. These topics could include math, geography, music, literature, and just about anything really.

The team “usually gets to state [level],” Yi said

Szczepanski has been the advisor of the knowledge bowl club for five years, and she greatly enjoys doing it.

“I love trivia myself, and I love watching other people do it,” Szczepanski said. “ I enjoy watching the kids show their knowledge in the [Knowledge bowl] and seeing how smart they are.”

Szczepanski also concurs that they will get to state level.

If there is anyone that thinks they are a smart fella and not a fart smella, just come on down to room 3203 and prove it!
